YouTube has confirmed the rumours that it is going 3D by releasing a instructional video an a 3D page for users to better understand what 3D is all about.

“First there was 1953’s 3D thriller “House of Wax,” then there was the Michael Jackson adventure “Captain EO,” and this summer there are at least three major motion pictures in 3D,” says Peter Bradshaw, Software Engineer at Google in a post on the YouTube blog.

Although the engineer says that many of the “kinks are still being worked out”, you can’t yet embed 3D videos at the moment for example, the site is hoping that the mass of video makers using the service will be able to act as guinea pigs in creating a better service.

YouTube is asking videographers to tag 3D videos with yt3d:enable=true, and leave the link in a comment on the YouTube blog.

YouTube is kicking off the new feature with some tips for would be 3D videographers Some basics around shooting 3D videos (this isn’t easy, so patience is key):

- Use two cameras arranged like a pair of eyes.

- Start both cameras recording simultaneously.

- In your video editing program, place the footage for the left and right eyes together in the frame side by side, with the right eye on the left and the left eye on the right.

- Upload your video! Edit your videos tags and add yt3d:enable=true. If video is widescreen, add yt3d:aspect=16:9 too.

EA has confirmed that FIFA 10 will hit the high street on 2 October.

The yearly sports title will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PS2, Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP with only Apple Mac and iPhone fans missing out.

The new game, as with previous versions, promises a stack of new features for footie fans and once again goes up against Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer.

According to EA, on the pitch critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA 10 mirrors real-world football with players now moving, behaving and positioning themselves more realistically.

On attack, players analyse space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options.

On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus there’s slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better-urgency clearance logic and in goal goalkeeper intelligence has been improved.

Elsewhere the 360-degree dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible.

FIFA 10 also features a deeper iteration of the Manager Mode with more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves.
